Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated Health and Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our QSSHE team in Norwich. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the business remains compliant with relevant statutory provisions, codes, and standards. This is achieved by translating regulatory requirements into everyday working policies, procedures, and processes.

This role reports directly to our Assurance Manager and involves coordinating internal auditing and monitoring activities to ensure they are robust and in line with external stakeholders and Perenco UK processes and procedures. The position is based in our Norwich office, working Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Support the Assurance Manager in developing and delivering the PUK-SNS Assurance Programme, ensuring sufficient audits are undertaken to maintain compliance with SEMS at an acceptable level.
  • Coordinate risk-based assurance (internal and external), including compliance with legal and other requirements. Monitor progress and support business leaders to deliver their lower-tier assurance plans.
  • Maintain relevant auditing tools to collect, analyze, and review performance and communicate results effectively to sites.
  • Engage with site management to provide audit status/output findings to identify non-compliance and risk.
  • Review leading and lagging metrics and insights from internal sources and external data to ensure the assurance programme is relevant and fit for purpose.
  • Undertake assurance activities across all sites to establish adherence to company requirements and regulatory standards and legislation.
  • Support improvements in the implementation of the Safety and Environmental Management System (SEMS).
  • Support the management of Asset Integrity Management (AIMS) reviews to ensure performance standards comply with regulatory and industry standards.
  • Provide support to other QSSHE Team members during peak activity periods.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent qualification.
  • 5+ years of experience within a high-hazard industry, ideally with onshore or offshore Oil & Gas experience.
  • Understanding of offshore legislation is desirable.
  • QMS ISO 9001 Internal Auditor qualification or equivalent is desirable.
  • Root Cause Analysis Specialist certification is desirable.
  • Strong proficiency in writing and editing reports.
  • Ability to interact with senior management.
  • Drive and passion to champion Health & Safety.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Estimated Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
