About the Role

The Financial Control team at Addleshaw Goddard is seeking an experienced and qualified accountant to join our team as a Senior Financial Accountant. This role will be responsible for a variety of accounting and control activities focusing on the international entities of the AG Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review of statutory financial statements for both limited company and LLP entities, under UK GAAP and IFRS.
  • Working with the team to ensure audits are on track and good lines of communication are maintained with the audit teams.
  • Review of statutory adjustments and ensuring all items are posted into the ledgers in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Accurate monthly accounting and timely reporting of relevant jurisdictional balances.
  • Review of balance sheet reconciliations for regional entity balance sheets.
  • Responsibility for intercompany matrix, intercompany billing processes and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Foreign exchange accounting.
  • Involvement in other FC areas with a focus on overseas entities as required, which may include property accounting, partnership finance, VAT analysis and review, HR related items.
  • Month end support as required.
  • Support with technical accounting advisory.
  • Improvement of controls, processes and compliance in all areas of accounting across regions.

Requirements

  • Be an experienced, qualified accountant (all qualifications considered), ideally with 5+ years PQE.
  • Have experience of preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and a good understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS.
  • Have demonstrable experience managing audit processes.
  • Have the evidenced ability of operating with a control mindset, with a track record of driving the strengthening and refining of financial controls to ensure a best-in-class control environment.
  • Have a proven track record of working collaboratively with others to implement change.
  • Be a confident and consultative stakeholder manager, with evidenced experience of engaging with internal and external stakeholders of all levels.
  • Have strong attention to detail with the curiosity to identify, understand and drive imaginative solutions to challenges.
  • Experience of line management desirable but not essential.
  • Have a strong working knowledge in IT systems, specifically across MS packages (Excel (essential), PowerPoint, Word, Outlook etc.).
