Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team in the SEMH Enhanced Provision room. As a key member of our team, you will provide essential academic support to vulnerable students, enabling them to reach their full potential.

About the Position

This part-time fixed-term position runs until 31.08.2026, with an actual salary of £17,226 and 30 hours of work per week plus 5 training days. To be successful, you will need experience working with pupils of the relevant age group and some background in supporting students with additional needs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver tailored academic support to vulnerable students, ensuring they stay on track and meet their goals
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement effective transition activities
  • Record and monitor student progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address these
Essential Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must possess:

  • NVQ level 2 qualification for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualifications/experience
  • Superior numeracy and literacy skills
  • A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to communicate effectively with children and young people
  • A genuine enthusiasm for education and a desire to make a difference in the lives of students
