Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support children with additional needs in our SEMH Enhanced Provision room. As a key member of our team, you will provide academic support to vulnerable students, enabling them to achieve their full potential.

About the Role

This is a part-time fixed-term position until 31.08.2026. You will work 30 hours per week plus 5 training days and receive an actual salary of £17,226. The successful candidate will have recent or current teaching assistant experience, ideally with pupils of the relevant age group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide academic support to vulnerable students, promoting effective learning across all lessons
  • Support transition activities to ensure pupils can demonstrate resilience and thrive in the academy environment
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievements
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of NVQ level 2 qualification for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualifications/experience
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
  • A calm and consistent approach, with the ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships with children and young people
  • Motivation to work with children and young people, with a willingness to learn and take on new ideas
