Job Title: EYFS Class Teacher

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated EYFS Class Teacher to join our team at GSL Education.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the EYFS team and ensuring that our preschool environment provides a safe, caring, happy, and stimulating environment for our young learners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support children and parents in settling into the preschool environment, meeting individual family needs.
  • Lead the Preschool team, enabling each member to contribute fully.
  • Enable young children to make good progress in their learning, building on existing skills.
  • Assist children in developing emotional security, self-belief, and mature social skills.
  • Promote a love of learning and excitement about preschool.
  • Maintain high levels of conduct and professional behavior.
  • Take responsibility for safeguarding children's welfare.
  • Build good relationships with parents and carers, working in partnership for the best outcomes.
Planning and Teaching:
  • Plan rich, stimulating learning activities, achieving good progression in pupils' understanding.
  • Create a rich, stimulating learning environment, capturing attention and leading to independent exploration.
  • Make effective use of assessment information, teaching, and planning future learning.
  • Plan and manage activities for nursery children staying for nursery club.
  • Seek and plan opportunities for pupils' spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development.
Teaching and Classroom Management:
  • Ensure effective teaching, meeting learning objectives, and using learning time efficiently.
  • Use various teaching methods to capture children's interest.
  • Set high expectations for children's behavior, providing engaging teaching and positive relationships.
  • Establish a safe, clean, and secure learning environment, promoting pupils' confidence.
  • Be familiar with the Code of Practice, carrying out the Assess, Do, Review process.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of promoting high standards of literacy.
  • Evaluate teaching critically, improving effectiveness.
Team Working and Collaboration:
  • Participate in relevant meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Work as a team member, identifying opportunities for working with colleagues and sharing effective practice.
  • Work with the EYFS team, valuing each member and providing opportunities for contribution.
  • Take part in reviewing, developing, and managing curriculum activities.
  • Foster close relationships with parents/carers, assisting them to support their child's learning at home.

Experience:

  • 1 year of EYFS teaching experience (preferred).
  • 2 years of nursery experience (preferred).
