Job Title: EYFS Class Teacher

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated EYFS Class Teacher to join our team at GSL Education in Leicester.

As an EYFS Class Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for our young learners. Your primary responsibility will be to support children and parents in settling into the preschool environment, catering to each family's unique needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Preschool team and empower each member of staff to contribute fully.
  • Enable young children to make good progress in their learning by building upon their existing skills.
  • Assist all children in developing emotional security, self-belief, and mature social skills.
  • Promote a love of learning and an excitement about coming to preschool each day.
  • Maintain the highest levels of conduct and professional behavior.
  • Take responsibility for safeguarding the welfare of children within preschool.
  • Build strong relationships with parents and carers, working in partnership to ensure the best outcomes for children and families.

Planning and Teaching:

  • Plan rich and stimulating learning activities that achieve good progression in pupils' understanding.
  • Create a vibrant learning environment that captures attention, creates excitement, and leads to independent exploration.
  • Make effective use of assessment information on pupils' attainment and progress when teaching and in planning future learning.
  • Plan and manage activities for nursery children who stay for nursery club.
  • Seek and plan opportunities to develop pupils' spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development.

Teaching and Classroom Management:

  • Ensure effective teaching of the whole class, and of groups and individuals within the whole class setting.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to capture children's interest.
  • Set high expectations for children's behavior, providing engaging teaching and positive relationships.
  • Establish a safe, clean, and secure learning environment that promotes pupils' confidence.
  • Be familiar with the Code of Practice on the identification and assessment of special educational needs.

Team Working and Collaboration:

  • Participate in relevant meetings and professional development opportunities at the school.
  • Work as a team member, identifying opportunities for working with colleagues and sharing effective practice.
  • Work with the EYFS team, valuing each member and providing opportunities for them to contribute to planning and ideas.

Requirements:

  • 1 year of EYFS teaching experience (preferred)
  • 2 years of nursery experience (preferred)
