Psychologist Leader for Complex Needs

This is a part-time Principal Psychologist position available in Herefordshire's Complex Emotional Needs Service (CENS).
CENS is a multidisciplinary team that provides DBT and peer support to individuals struggling with emotion regulation, relational difficulties, and impulsive risk behaviors.
We also offer training and consultation to other NHS mental health services.
The post holder will provide clinical leadership, staff development support, and opportunities for their own professional growth within a thriving community of psychological professionals.
Main Duties:
- Provide clinical leadership and supervision to the CENS team
- Conduct specialist assessments and hold a DBT caseload
- Offer trauma-focused therapy where appropriate and consultation/training to the wider system
- Co-produce a sustainable training program for local NHS staff and stakeholders
- Pilot ways to support clients who struggle to engage with CENS or other community services but frequently experience contact with crisis services

Requirements
- Minimum 4 years' experience as a qualified Clinical/Counselling Psychologist
- Experience leading in the development and organisation of psychological interventions
- Sufficient training and experience to be recognised by the Division of Clinical/Counselling Psychology
- Training and experience in applying psychological knowledge across various mental health presentations
- Assessing and providing psychological interventions for a range of clinical severity and presentations
- Multi-agency/multidisciplinary working experience
- Therapeutic expertise in working with carers/families/couples
- Experience conducting clinically relevant research
- DBT service experience
- Working with clients presenting emotional dysregulation, impulsivity, relational complexity, and risk
Qualifications
- BSc/BA Honours degree at 2:1 or above in Psychology
- Post-graduate Doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology
- Post-qualification training/experience in specific evidence-based techniques
- Evidence of regular further professional training and experience
- Eligible for registration as a Chartered Psychologist and Practitioner member of the BPS Division of Clinical/Counselling Psychology
- Registered with HCPC as a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist
