Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Application Specialist to join our team at Hexagon AB. As an Application Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing technical sales support for all applications encompassing metrology, demonstration, functionality, and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth product demonstrations showcasing technical features and processes to prospective and existing customers.
  • Effectively communicate product benefits for complex applications, highlighting their value proposition and unique selling points.
  • Assist regional sales teams in providing product recommendations for customers' applications, leveraging your technical expertise to drive sales growth.
  • Prepare operating instructions and conduct training programs to meet customers' needs, ensuring seamless adoption and utilization of our products.
  • Maintain positive customer relationships through effective interaction, fostering trust and loyalty.
  • Prepare detailed technical specifications for quotations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop programs/applications that effectively accomplish customer specifications/objectives, utilizing your technical skills to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Consult with customers and incorporate their needs and feedback into application designs, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Provide technical support to customers, addressing their queries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure programs/applications work properly after maintenance and testing, guaranteeing optimal performance.
  • Analyze and edit existing programs/applications as needed to optimize performance, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Take a challenging issue from problem statement through to resolution and follow-up, demonstrating your problem-solving skills.
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in application engineering and new technologies, applying this knowledge to drive innovation.
  • Collaborate with engineering and marketing groups on product development projects, ensuring alignment and effective communication.
  • Learn from and study experienced Application Specialists' techniques and work, continuously improving your skills and expertise.
  • Remain current with skills by attending training classes, independent research, and seminars as needed, staying ahead of the curve.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, demonstrating your flexibility and adaptability.
Requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Comfortable speaking before small groups, with the ability to engage and persuade audiences.
  • Proficient with MS Office, with a strong understanding of productivity software.
  • Creative, analytical, and driven, with a passion for problem-solving and innovation.
  • Works under close direction as well as in a team environment, with the ability to collaborate and build strong relationships.
  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 0-2 years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or similar environment.
Working Conditions

Employee must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily and, if requested, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable employee with disabilities to perform essential job functions, absent undue hardship.

Frequently in a stationary position for long periods of time; occasional bending/kneeling.

Manual dexterity required for keyboard use, operating office equipment, grasping objects.

Regularly move around the office and factory floor.

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception and adjust focus.

Frequently communicates with other employees and customers.

Primarily an office setting, with occasional visits to the factory floor.

Office is clean, orderly, properly lighted, and ventilated.

Office noise levels are considered low to moderate.

Factory noise levels are considered moderate.

If required, PPE will be provided.

May require travel up to 70%.
