Sword, a leading provider of business technology solutions, is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in driving new business growth, building strong relationships with industry leaders, and identifying opportunities for expansion.

About the Role:
This dynamic position involves leading strategic sales efforts, supporting the business development team, and ensuring sector solutions achieve success. You will collaborate closely with marketing, pre-sales, and senior leadership to ensure our offerings align with industry trends and client needs. This role extends beyond sales, focusing on forging long-term partnerships, delivering impactful solutions, and creating lasting value for both our clients and the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Identify new business opportunities within target sectors, managing the sales cycle from lead generation to closing.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create compelling sales propositions aligned with client needs and industry trends.
  • Maintain and expand relationships with clients, industry leaders, and partners, positioning Sword as a trusted partner.
  • Support and mentor the business development team, enhancing their contribution to the company's success.

Requirements:
We are looking for someone with proven experience in complex new-business software/IT sales, ideally within the sector market. The ideal candidate will have excellent commercial awareness and the ability to develop and close complex sales opportunities. A strong ability to influence decision-makers, develop creative solutions, and navigate complex business environments is essential. Expertise in structured sales methodologies, such as Solution Selling or Strategic Selling, is highly desirable. We offer a competitive salary of £65,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including personalized career development, flexible working, and a comprehensive benefits package.
