Project Overview
The University of Cambridge is seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team in the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute. The successful candidate will work on a project entitled "Immune Hedgehog signalling dynamics in health and disease" under the supervision of Dr Maike de la Roche.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in the field of cancer biology and to develop skills in immunology, molecular biology, and flow cytometry. The project aims to shed light on the dynamics of Hedgehog signalling in immune cells and to identify novel therapeutic entry points into cancer, infection, and autoimmunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research in the field of immune Hedgehog signalling dynamics
- Develop and implement novel experimental approaches to study Hedgehog signalling in immune cells
- Collaborate with other researchers in the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute
- Present research findings at international conferences and publish in top-tier journals
Requirements
- Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g. immunology, molecular biology, cancer biology)
- Excellent research skills and experience in immunology, molecular biology, and flow cytometry

Funding
This four-year PhD studentship is funded by the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute and includes full funding for University fees and a stipend of £21,000 per annum.
Eligibility
We welcome applications from both UK and overseas students. Applicants should hold or expect to gain a First/Upper Second Class degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject from any recognised university worldwide.
