Deaf Support Specialist

At Carrington Blake Recruitment, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Specialist Officer to join our team. As a Specialist Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting deaf and deafblind citizens to maintain and develop their independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the needs and outcomes of deaf and deafblind citizens, ensuring compliance with the Care Act 2014.
- Work collaboratively with citizens to develop and implement personalized care packages, focusing on independent living skills and community involvement.
- Provide expert guidance on assistive technologies and environmental aids to enhance citizens' quality of life.
- Monitor and review care packages to ensure they meet the evolving needs of citizens.
- Develop and maintain relationships with providers and agencies to secure services and resources for citizens.
- Identify and address safeguarding and quality of care issues, ensuring vulnerable adults receive the highest standard of support.
- Conduct capacity risk assessments to inform decisions on residential care options.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in supporting deaf and deafblind citizens.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and relevant legislation.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
