Job Title: Specialist Officer

At Carrington Blake Recruitment, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Specialist Officer to join our team. As a Specialist Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting deaf and deafblind citizens to maintain and develop their independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the needs and outcomes of deaf and deafblind citizens, ensuring compliance with the Care Act 2014.
  2. Work collaboratively with citizens to develop and implement personalized care packages, focusing on independent living skills and community involvement.
  3. Provide expert guidance on assistive technologies and environmental aids to enhance citizens' quality of life.
  4. Monitor and review care packages to ensure they meet the evolving needs of citizens.
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with providers and agencies to secure services and resources for citizens.
  6. Identify and address safeguarding and quality of care issues, ensuring vulnerable adults receive the highest standard of support.
  7. Conduct capacity risk assessments to inform decisions on residential care options.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in supporting deaf and deafblind citizens.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and relevant legislation.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
