Job Title: Specialist Officer

At Carrington Blake Recruitment, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialist Officer to join our team. As a Specialist Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting deaf/deafblind citizens to maintain and develop their independence.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct specialist assessments to identify current needs and outcomes in compliance with the Care Act 2014.
  2. Undertake holistic overview assessments to determine the level of resource, equipment, or minor adaptations required to optimise independence.
  3. Identify eligible needs in compliance with the Care Act 2014.
  4. Monitor and review care packages as necessary.
  5. Provide assistance on a range of issues related to support needs, including risk management, benefit maximisation, support services, and equipment.
  6. Support and help develop and maintain independence through achieving for oneself and minimising levels of dependency.
  7. Assist in developing and commissioning cost-effective care packages of support, purchasing and providing equipment to meet requirements and needs.
  8. Liaise with providers and other agencies to arrange identified services on behalf of the citizen.
  9. Identify and initiate action to ensure vulnerable adults are protected in the community and that the quality and standard of services provided are at, and beyond, the level anticipated.
  10. Undertake capacity risk assessments in conjunction with other professionals.

Requirements:

• Specialist knowledge and experience in supporting deaf/deafblind citizens.

• Ability to conduct assessments and identify needs in compliance with the Care Act 2014.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong organisational and time management skills.
