Teacher of the Deaf Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher of the Deaf to join our team at an Outstanding Primary School in Tower Hamlets. This role is perfect for an experienced educator who is committed to supporting deaf pupils academically and enhancing their learning experience in both resource and mainstream settings.

About the Role

In this rewarding position, you will work within the HI Provision, supporting up to 11 pupils across Key Stage 2. You will have the opportunity to teach students with moderate to profound deafness, employing various strategies tailored to their needs. The ideal candidate must hold a Teacher of the Deaf (TOD) qualification and be proficient in a total communication approach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver effective education to hearing-impaired students
  • Support pupils in a mainstream school environment
  • Employ various strategies to cater to individual needs
  • Work collaboratively with the HI Provision team
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher of the Deaf (TOD) certification
  • Minimum of Level 2 British Sign Language qualification
  • Postgraduate-level teaching qualification
  • Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum
