About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher of the Deaf to join our Outstanding Primary School in Tower Hamlets. As a Teacher of the Deaf, you will play a vital role in supporting deaf pupils academically and enhancing their learning experience in both resource and mainstream settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver effective education tailored to the needs of hearing-impaired students
  • Work within the HI Provision, supporting up to 11 pupils across Key Stage 2
  • Teach students with moderate to profound deafness in a three-form entry, OFSTED-rated Outstanding Primary School
  • Employ various strategies to support the learning needs of deaf pupils
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher of the Deaf (TOD) certification
  • Minimum of Level 2 British Sign Language qualification
  • Postgraduate-level teaching qualification
  • Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum, including Literacy, Numeracy, and Science
  • Committed to supporting Hearing Impaired students in a mainstream school environment
