About the Role

Currie & Brown is seeking a talented individual to join our Exeter office as an apprentice quantity surveyor. This exciting opportunity will provide the successful candidate with the chance to work on high-profile construction projects and develop their skills in a dynamic team.

The role involves supporting the production of feasibility cost estimates, undertaking measurement and quantification using software solutions, and assisting in the delivery of professional services to clients. The successful applicant will also attend university on a part-time basis to gain a degree in quantity surveying.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the production of feasibility cost estimates
  • Undertaking measurement and quantification using software solutions
  • Supporting the preparation of tender documentation
  • Reviewing tender documentation and capturing data for benchmarking and future cost plans
  • Attending project/client meetings and taking minutes
  • Assisting in the delivery of professional services to clients in our cost consultancy teams
  • Recording pricing of variations and project changes

Requirements

  • Experience using Word, PowerPoint, and Excel desirable
  • Ability to adapt and work independently and as part of a team
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Aptitude to learn and strong desire to become a chartered quantity surveyor
  • Team player with a 'can-do' attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful, and flexible
  • Proactive approach to learning and working
