About the Role

Currie & Brown is seeking a talented and ambitious individual to join our Exeter office as an apprentice quantity surveyor. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality construction projects and contributing to the company's success.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge in quantity surveying while working on exciting projects and collaborating with experienced professionals. You will attend university on a part-time basis to gain a degree in quantity surveying, while working in the office for the rest of the week.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the production of feasibility cost estimates
  • Undertaking measurement and quantification using software solutions
  • Supporting the preparation of tender documentation
  • Reviewing tender documentation, which will initially involve data capture for benchmarking and future cost plans
  • Attending project/client meetings and taking minutes
  • Assisting in the delivery of professional services to clients in our cost consultancy teams
  • Recording pricing of variations and project changes

Requirements:

  • Experience using Word, PowerPoint, and Excel desired
  • Ability to adapt, working independently and as part of a team
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Aptitude to learn and have a strong desire to become a chartered quantity surveyor
  • A team player with a 'can-do' attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful, and flexible
  • Proactive in your approach to learning and working at the same time
