City & County of Swansea is an innovative and dynamic waterfront city at the heart of the wider Swansea Bay City Region. With stunning coastal scenery, tranquil parks, a thriving cultural scene, and the best of modern city living, the city offers the perfect blend of urban and natural attractions.
We are currently remodeling our family support, edge of care, and early help services to better meet the needs of families in Swansea. Our goal is to ensure that families receive the right support at the right time, from the right place, with a focus on providing the best possible outcomes for children and families. This will enable statutory children's services to focus on those families with the most complex needs.
In Swansea, we understand the importance of nurturing and supporting our staff. From our excellent induction process to ongoing support and career development opportunities, we strive to create a risk-sensitive culture that values the well-being of our employees. Experienced and supportive managers are available to guide you through your role, ensuring a seamless progression through the social work and senior practitioner pay scales.
Our vision in Swansea is clear: whenever safe, children should remain in the care of their birth families. We use the Signs of Safety practice framework and have implemented the Reclaiming Social Work model to form small pods led by a Practice Lead. This approach supports good supervision, collaboration between staff, and the development of positive, respectful relationships with families. Listening to children and involving them in decisions affecting their lives is at the heart of our work.
The 16+ Team @ Infonation (The BAYS+ Service) is seeking a dynamic and solution-focused Youth Support Specialist to join our team. Working in partnership with Barnardo's, we aim to provide a seamless and tailored response to the needs of young people (aged between 16 and 25) under Child in Need, Child Protection, Looked After, and Care Leaver arrangements. Ideally, candidates would have a good understanding of statutory roles within Child Protection and the responsibilities of the Local Authority towards Looked After Children and Care Leavers.
We offer a competitive salary range of £34,400 - £40,708 per annum, depending on experience, as well as a range of benefits including a contributory pension scheme, annual leave entitlement, and opportunities for professional development and career growth.
