We are partnering the retail division of a global automotive vehicle manufacturer to find an exceptional Workshop Controller.

This is a challenging role that requires strong leadership and technical skills. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in an automotive repair or maintenance role, including experience in a supervisory or leadership position.

  • The estimated salary for this position is £45,000 - £55,000 per year.

Job Description

The Workshop Controller will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring that all maintenance and repair work is carried out efficiently and to a high standard.

  1. Supervising and coordinating the activities of workshop staff, including technicians and apprentices.
  2. Providing training, guidance, and support to team members to enhance their skills and performance.
  3. Assigning tasks and projects to technicians based on their skills and workload.
  4. Planning and scheduling work to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks.
  5. Monitoring and inspecting work performed by technicians to ensure it meets quality and safety standards.
  6. Conducting final inspections and test drives to verify the quality of repairs and maintenance.
  7. Staying updated on the latest automotive technologies, repair techniques, and industry best practices.
  8. Managing inventory levels of parts and supplies, ensuring availability for scheduled work.
  9. Maintaining workshop tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and compliant with safety regulations.
  10. Preparing reports on workshop performance, including productivity, efficiency, and quality metrics.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is £45,000 - £55,000 per year, plus benefits such as 24 days annual leave per year, carry over up to 5 days annual leave per year, and private medical insurance.
