Tenure-Track Professor in Electronics Engineering

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor to join our team in the Department of Technology at Norfolk State University. As a tenure-track faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching and developing undergraduate Engineering Technology courses, developing partnerships with industry firms, contributing to program and curriculum development, advising and mentoring students, and engaging in scholarly activities.
Key Responsibilities- Teach and develop undergraduate Engineering Technology courses, including digital electronics, electronic devices, electronic circuits, industrial control systems, programmable logic controllers, embedded systems/micro-controllers, computer networks, and wireless communications systems.
- Develop partnerships with industry firms to assure internships and field trips for students.
- Contribute to program and curriculum development, ensuring alignment with industry needs and academic standards.
- Advise and mentor students, providing guidance on academic and professional development.
- Engage in scholarly activities, including research and publication, to contribute to the field of Engineering Technology.
- Participate in ongoing assessment and accreditation activities, ensuring the program meets industry and academic standards.
- An earned Ph.D. degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
- An earned Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
- An earned B.S. degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrable track record of successful teaching and scholarship.
- Good communication skills and a strong commitment to teaching excellence and collaboration.
