Tenure Track Music Faculty Position

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to fill a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Music - Voice position. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated music educator to join our team and contribute to the growth and development of our students.
Key Responsibilities- Teach voice major, voice minor, and other assigned classes for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as mentoring and advising students.
- Develop and implement high-quality curriculum and instructional materials that align with the department's goals and objectives.
- Engage in scholarly activities, including research, publication, and presentation, to maintain expertise and contribute to the field of music education.
- Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work, advising, and recruitment.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative programs and initiatives that enhance the student experience.
- A terminal degree in voice (required at the time of application).
- Dedication to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.
- Teaching experience in voice, with a strong record of student success and engagement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
- Experience teaching Vocal Pedagogy, Opera, and/or Language Diction.
- One to three years of experience teaching college-level courses.
- Knowledge and/or experience in African-American music.
- Experience with online course delivery systems.
