Interdisciplinary Studies Faculty Position

The Department of History & Interdisciplinary Studies at the Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of tenure-track faculty in Interdisciplinary Studies. This position is designed for an enthusiastic educator who will engage with a diverse student body, guiding them through various academic pathways in Interdisciplinary Studies, including minors in related fields.
- Provide instruction and mentorship to students majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies
- Deliver courses in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on interdisciplinary methodologies
- Design and teach courses addressing regionally significant topics
- Facilitate both in-person and online learning experiences
- Participate in departmental, college, and university initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
- Doctoral degree with coursework spanning multiple disciplines
- Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and scholarly research
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven track record of teaching, research, and community service
- Experience in securing external funding for research
- Commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Active contributions to curriculum development and enhancement
