Director of Sales and Customer Experience

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Sales and Customer Experience to lead our team at Smiggle's Broadway store in Sydney's CBD. This is a full-time position requiring 38 hours per week, including weekends, late night trading hours, and public holidays.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for kids' products and a genuine enthusiasm for delighting customers. They will be able to approach every day with an attitude of play and creativity, driving sales and customer satisfaction through effective coaching and development of their team.
This role offers a competitive salary, estimated at AU$70,000 - AU$90,000 per annum, plus opportunities for monthly incentives, staff discounts, and career advancement within the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Create a fantastic store experience for all customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty
- Drive sales through effective coaching and development of the team, achieving individual and store sales targets and KPIs
- Maximise every sales opportunity to achieve both individual and store sales targets
- Develop, train, and succession plan the team to increase productivity and efficiency
- Create a safe working environment for team members and customers
- Daily management of stock to minimise stock loss and maximise sales
- Implement visual merchandising strategies and promotional changes to drive sales and engagement
- Roster the team in line with store trading profiles to ensure adequate staffing levels
Requirements
- Experience in developing and coaching teams, providing constructive feedback and praise
- Previous leadership experience, ideally in retail, with a proven track record of achieving sales and KPIs while controlling wage spend and stock loss targets
- Ability to provide a unique and genuine customer experience, with a focus on delighting kids and parents alike
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment, with a strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
- Previous visual merchandising experience, preferably from a brief, would be highly regarded
