Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Female Social Care Assistant to join our team at Disability North. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and assistance to a young girl with autism, enabling her to engage in her chosen activities and live a fulfilling life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to the young girl, promoting her independence and autonomy.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as personal care and toilet training.
  • Support the young girl to engage in her favorite activities, including painting, music, and swimming.
  • Accompany the young girl on outings, such as visits to the local park or trampolining sessions.
  • Communicate effectively with the young girl's parents and other professionals involved in her care.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with children with autism and challenging behavior.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to work a variable schedule, including term time and school holidays. The role will involve working with a child who has complex needs, and the successful candidate will need to be able to provide a high level of supervision and support.
