Job Summary

A Senior Occupational Therapist is required to work at Amersham Hospital, providing assessment, acute rehabilitation, and timely discharge for patients transferred from the acute hospitals.

About the Role

This is a multi-skilled post requiring experience in acute medical discharge planning, neurology, amputees, falls, and other pathologies. You will work under the guidance of Band 7 Therapists and alongside Band 6 Therapists and Band 3 clinical support workers. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to ensure effective liaison with the multidisciplinary team, patients, and carers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and develop treatment plans for patients with complex needs
  • Work collaboratively with physiotherapists, nurses, and community teams to achieve timely discharge
  • Supervise junior staff and students, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Participate in quality audits and risk management initiatives to ensure high-quality patient care
Requirements
  • Current registration with the Health Professions Council
  • Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Experience in acute medical discharge planning and working with patients with complex needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
