As a Senior/Supervising Social Worker, you will be responsible for providing regular supervision to allocated foster carers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children and young people. You will also work closely with foster carers, children, and young people to identify their needs and develop personalized support plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality supervision to foster carers, ensuring they meet the required standards and competencies.
  • Work collaboratively with foster carers, children, and young people to identify their needs and develop tailored support plans.
  • Conduct regular visits to foster homes to monitor the well-being and safety of children and young people.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with foster carers, children, and young people, ensuring they feel supported and valued.
  • Participate in multi-agency meetings and contribute to the development of care plans for children and young people.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Hold a Social Work qualification and be registered with the relevant professional body.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of child safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation.
  • Be able to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with colleagues, foster carers, and children and young people.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to write clear and concise reports.
  • Be willing to travel extensively, including occasional overnight stays, to support foster carers and children and young people.
