Waking Night Residential Childcare Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Waking Night Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team at Area Camden. As a key member of our residential care team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the physical, social, and emotional care and development of the children and young people in our homes.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to our residents during nighttime hours. This will involve ensuring their safety and welfare, engaging in activities with them, and maintaining accurate records. You will also be required to communicate effectively with out-of-hours services and respond to emergencies as needed.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide nighttime care and support to children and young people, ensuring their safety and welfare at all times.
- Engage in activities with residents, such as games, crafts, and conversations, to promote their social and emotional development.
- Maintain accurate records of resident activities, behavior, and any incidents that may occur.
- Communicate effectively with out-of-hours services, such as social workers and emergency services, as needed.
- Respond to emergencies and crises, such as missing persons or medical emergencies, in a calm and professional manner.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the residential care team to ensure the smooth operation of the home.
- Experience working with children and young people, preferably in a residential care setting.
- Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures, including the Philomena procedure for reporting missing persons.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on providing high-quality care and support.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with residents, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and reports, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Willingness to work towards the relevant qualification, such as the Children Workforce Diploma, if not already held.
