Job Summary

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced locum consultant paediatrician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting acute general paediatrics, neonatal care, and outpatients.

Main Duties

The locum consultant paediatrician will be required to cover on-calls at consultant level, including general paediatric ward and admissions, level 1 + neonatal unit, labour ward, and transitional care. The post may also involve a small number of resident night shifts.

About Us

Our Paediatric teams are responsible for providing inpatient care for a range of specialties, including medical, surgical, ENT, and orthopaedic admissions. We also have a dedicated paediatric outpatient area with over 8000 attendances each year.

Person Specification

  • MRCPCH or equivalent
  • CCT Paediatrics or within 6 months of CCT or equivalent
  • On the GMC Specialist Register for Paediatrics

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Postgraduate qualification in child health or related subjects, education, or quality improvement
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the challenges of management
