Dumfries, Dumfries and Galloway, United Kingdom The Richmond Fellowship Scotland Full time

Dumfries and Galloway Shared Lives is a pioneering care and support service provided by The Richmond Fellowship Scotland, in partnership with Dumfries and Galloway council. This innovative program supports individuals aged 16+ who desire to live independently within their community, accompanied by the support of a family and community network.

This alternative to supported living or residential care focuses on shared interests, lifestyles, and a sense of humour, creating a warm and welcoming environment. It's akin to fostering – for adults.

The primary goal of our Shared Lives program is to provide individuals with a supportive and nurturing space, allowing them to thrive and maintain their independence.

Our respite/short breaks option enables individuals to temporarily reside with a Shared Lives carer, offering a much-needed break from their home life. This can be for an overnight stay, a weekend, or several weeks, providing peace of mind for both the individual and their family.

We also offer full support where the individual receiving care lives alongside and shares the Shared Lives carer's family home full-time. Our aim is to create a harmonious and supportive environment that caters to each individual's unique needs.

To become part of our Shared Lives program, all we ask is that you have a spare bedroom and some experience in care. Working from the comfort of your own home, you can earn between £400-542* per week, inclusive of tax relief, training, and ongoing support.

We are committed to building kinder, stronger communities, and we invite you to join us in this endeavour. Apply today and discover the rewarding world of adult care work.

An enhanced PVG check will be required of all successful applicants, as well as a standard PVG for all other members of the household over the age of 18.
