About the Role

Chestnut House is a residential children’s home providing care for young people who are disabled. Located in Weymouth, Dorset, it can support up to three young individuals.

This leadership role involves on-the-ground support and driving change by finding solutions, building relationships, and supporting young people in developing independence skills.

The successful candidate will provide clear management direction using evidence-based models, including Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), and lead the team in working with young people who may have complex communication needs.

The estimated salary for this full-time position is £43,000-£51,000 per year, depending on experience.

As a kind and caring person with a passion for improving lives, you will lead from the front to generate a change in culture, systems, relationships, practice, and ways of working together.

You must have at least 2 years of residential care experience within the last 5 years and prior experience in a senior worker or management role within the previous two years.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about improving the lives of Dorset children and creating opportunities for them to thrive.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years residential care experience within the last 5 years
  • Prior experience in a senior worker or management role within the previous two years
  • Sound knowledge of Children’s Home Regulations and Quality Standards
  • Workable knowledge of the Ofsted Inspection Framework
  • A Level 5 in leadership and management or social worker qualification
