Job Title: Technical IT Support Apprentice
Job Summary:
This is an excellent opportunity to work with a forward-thinking community equipment services provider who will support you to be the best you can be in your chosen field. As the Technical IT Support Apprentice, you will play a crucial role in maintaining in-house technology equipment and IT assets. This includes installing, configuring, diagnosing, repairing, and upgrading all hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal performance and providing end-user training and assistance where required.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with other operational teams on internal escalation of issues and deployment of hardware
- Accurately documenting instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal using the ticketing system
- Assisting in planning for meeting future computer and hardware needs
- Supporting the development and implementation of new computer projects and hardware installations
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of hardware and equipment acquisition & deployment
- Conducting research on computer products in support of PC procurement and other hardware peripherals
- Performing analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of hardware-related problems for various end-users and recommending corrective solutions
- Maintaining and improving existing inventory & asset numbers of all printers, scanners, PCs, laptops, and other peripheral equipment
- Constructing, installing, and testing customized configurations based on various platforms and operating systems
- Arranging the return and dispatch of all hardware from a central location (Stafford) working closely with various couriers
- Arranging the collection & inventory of hardware to be decommissioned and following the relevant WEEE processes
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience (training will be provided)
- Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides
- Ability to conduct research into hardware issues
