About the RoleThis role involves working as part of a team to provide relationship-based social work services to children and families, conducting assessments to identify family strengths, risks, and needs, and developing SMART plans to support children's welfare.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment & Planning: Conduct assessments to identify family strengths, risks, and needs, developing SMART plans to support children's welfare.
- Safeguarding: Engage in child protection investigations and work collaboratively with families to develop plans that ensure children's safety.
- Collaboration with Agencies: Foster strong relationships with legal services, healthcare, education, and other partners, promoting effective partnership work.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate case records in line with practice standards, ensuring documentation is up-to-date and comprehensive.
- Qualifications: Professional Social Work qualification (CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent) and HCPC registration.
- Experience: Substantial experience in assessing and working directly with children and families in a statutory setting.
- Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of UK childcare laws, statutory guidance, and the Working Together 2018 framework.
- Skills: Excellent communication, report-writing, and assessment skills; ability to manage challenging situations and build positive relationships.
- Other Requirements: DBS clearance, and willingness to travel across the county as needed.
