About the Role: CV Library is seeking a highly skilled Control Room Shift Engineer to join our data centre team. This exciting opportunity involves monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting critical systems to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to high safety standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor and manage critical infrastructure systems from the control room, including HVAC, electrical, and BMS/EMS systems.
  2. Respond to alarms and critical incidents, performing swift and accurate assessments and resolutions.
  3. Conduct regular inspections, testing, and fault-finding on systems to ensure optimal functionality and uptime.
  4. Maintain accurate records, logs, and shift reports in accordance with compliance and operational standards.
  5. Communicate effectively with maintenance teams, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth handovers between shifts.
  6. Participate in training to stay current on safety protocols, operational procedures, and technical updates.

Requirements:

  • Background in Armed Forces or similar, with experience in critical or control room settings.
  • Knowledge of critical data centre systems such as power distribution, generators, UPS, fire safety, and cooling systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle emergencies and make timely decisions.
  • Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Energy Management Systems (EMS).
  • Electrical or mechanical qualifications are an advantage.
