About the Opportunity: CV Library has a unique opening for a Control Room Shift Engineer to monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot critical systems within our data centre. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, preferably with Armed Forces experience, and be committed to upholding operational excellence in a high-stakes setting.

Main Responsibilities and Requirements:

  1. Monitor and manage critical infrastructure systems from the control room, including HVAC, electrical, and BMS/EMS systems.
  2. Respond to alarms and critical incidents, performing swift and accurate assessments and resolutions.
  3. Conduct regular inspections, testing, and fault-finding on systems to ensure optimal functionality and uptime.
  4. Maintain accurate records, logs, and shift reports in accordance with compliance and operational standards.
  5. Communicate effectively with maintenance teams, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth handovers between shifts.
  6. Participate in training to stay current on safety protocols, operational procedures, and technical updates.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Background in Armed Forces or similar, with experience in critical or control room settings.
  • Knowledge of critical data centre systems such as power distribution, generators, UPS, fire safety, and cooling systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle emergencies and make timely decisions.
  • Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Energy Management Systems (EMS).
  • Electrical or mechanical qualifications are an advantage.

Compensation and Benefits:
