Job Description:

Combat Systems Design Team Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our high-profile team as a Combat Systems Design Engineer, contributing to the development of cutting-edge technology for the Submarine program. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative solutions to complex technical problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop an understanding of customer and user needs, influencing design activities accordingly.
  • Support the development of design solutions to complex technical problems throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure design proving evidence is comprehensive, captured within requirements management tools, and endorsed by relevant authorities.
  • Understand contractual and performance requirements for Combat Systems, supporting the definition of associated acceptance criteria and events during design, build, integration, installation, and commissioning activities.
  • Provide technical support to integrated performance and acceptance activities, including equipment acceptance from suppliers and system acceptance by customers.
  • Enhance domain knowledge and subject matter expertise through collaboration with various engineering teams.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Systems Engineering processes and practices in defence, maritime, or closely linked industries such as Aerospace or Automotive.
  • Experience with the engineering lifecycle, with awareness of the entire process and operating in relevant phases.
  • Familiarity with relevant engineering standards, including safety and environmental regulations.
  • Awareness of Product Safety and SHE principles.
