GCSE Tutor Job Description

The National Skills Agency is seeking a highly skilled GCSE tutor to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to make a positive impact on the lives of our learners.

About the Opportunity

This part-time role requires approximately 9.5 hours of commitment per week. As a GCSE tutor, you will be responsible for supporting learners in achieving their academic goals, with a focus on GCSE delivery and Functional Skills.

Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Conduct thorough initial assessments and diagnostics to understand each learner's strengths and weaknesses.
  2. Develop and implement effective Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), tailored to individual learner requirements.
  3. Regularly monitor learner attendance and performance, reporting any concerns to management.
  4. Ensure all assessment and documentation is completed in a timely manner, meeting awarding body and organisational requirements.
  5. Maintain a safe working environment, adhering to health and safety legislation.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Hold a Qualified Tutor qualification (at least Level 3).
  • Have a minimum of 2 years teaching experience in GCSE/Functional Skills.
  • Possess a valid Teaching Qualification (at least Level 3).
  • Hold a current driving licence.
Remuneration and Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary, commensurate with experience. The estimated annual salary range for this position is £30,000 - £40,000, dependent on qualifications and experience.
