Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Young's Pubs. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
- Supervise and train junior kitchen staff to ensure high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and stock control to minimize waste and optimize profitability.
- Develop and implement new recipes and menu ideas to drive sales and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to design and deliver new dishes for our menus and daily specials.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and company policies.
- Contribute to the development of a positive and productive kitchen team culture.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior CDP in a high-volume kitchen environment.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Strong culinary skills, with a passion for producing high-quality dishes and a commitment to excellence.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with a focus on efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the Head Chef and other kitchen staff to achieve business objectives.
