Job Title: Principal Town Planner

Job Summary:

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Town Planner to join a large multidisciplinary consultancy with over 150 years' experience. The successful candidate will provide expertise in shaping and assessing the case for development projects, including determining planning strategies, preparing planning applications, and coordinating various technical teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shaping and assessing the case for development projects, including determining planning strategies;
  • Preparing planning applications and appeals;
  • Site appraisals;
  • Community consultation;
  • Planning project management;
  • Coordinating various technical teams;
  • Proposal preparation and some business development activities;
  • Liaison with landowners, developers, and architects;
  • Providing advice and guidance on planning and land use to a variety of clients, including local planning authorities;
  • Team supervision and advice.

Requirements:

  • Chartered Town Planner with a good Town Planning degree or related;
  • Experience in preparing planning applications for the public and/or private sector;
  • Excellent analytical and written skills;
  • Strong team working ethic;
  • IT literate in Microsoft Office, Excel, and ideally some GIS experience;
  • Strong planning and organizing skills;
  • Full driving license.
