Job Summary

RPS Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Ecology GIS team in delivering high-quality support for private and public-sector clients across the UK.

About the Role

As a Principal GIS Consultant, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, including infrastructure and renewable energy projects. You will be responsible for leading a team of GIS consultants, managing projects, and supervising internal staff. You will also have technical oversight and sign-off on project output.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of GIS consultants in delivering high-quality support for clients
  • Manage projects from start to finish, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery
  • Supervise internal staff and provide technical guidance and support
  • Have technical oversight and sign-off on project output
  • Work with the Senior Ecology Team to drive digital innovations and transformation across the division

Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong background in GIS and ecology. You will have previously led a team of GIS consultants and have experience in leading digital innovations within the GIS team and across the wider ecology team. You will have helped drive digital transformation, leveraging digital data capture to improve efficiency within internal processes and communication of data between ESRI and Microsoft products.
