Job Summary:

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Planning Consultant to join their team. As a key member of the Planning team, you will be responsible for shaping and assessing the case for development projects, including determining planning strategies, preparing planning applications, and providing advice and guidance on planning and land use to a variety of clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Lead and manage planning projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Planning Strategy: Develop and implement planning strategies to achieve client objectives, including determining planning policies and procedures.
  • Application Preparation: Prepare and submit planning applications, including drafting and submitting supporting documents.
  • Client Liaison: Provide expert advice and guidance on planning and land use to clients, including developers, landowners, and local authorities.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise and mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Chartered Town Planner with a good Town Planning degree or related qualification.
  • Experience: Proven experience in preparing planning applications for the public and/or private sector.
  • Skills: Excellent analytical and written skills, strong team working ethic, and IT literacy in Microsoft Office, Excel, and GIS.
  • Personal Qualities: Strong planning and organizing skills, ability to manage own time and workload, and problem-solving skills.
