Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Bid and Commercial Manager to join our UK Transport Business. As a key member of our bid teams, you will be responsible for developing winning commercial strategies for design and build projects and design frameworks.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Bid Director and Bid Manager to develop and implement winning commercial strategies;
  • Develop and maintain financial models that take into account project risks and company commercial expectations;
  • Present commercial strategies to senior stakeholders and gain approval;
  • Manage financial risk and opportunity across the business through both the bidding and project delivery phase;
  • Advise teams on commercial contractual issues as needed.

About You

  • Strong experience of bidding civil engineering consultancy frameworks in the transport sector;
  • Experience of bidding for engineering design services on design and build projects as the contractor's designer;
  • A strong knowledge of NEC forms of contract, particularly comfortable working with contracts that include the NEC Schedule of Cost Components;
  • Experience of working in a finance-related role (preferred but not essential);
  • Experience supporting the successful delivery of civil engineering projects either as a project manager or in a previous commercial role.
