About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven individual to join our team as a Business Development Officer with a commercial sales focus. This role requires a unique blend of fundraising expertise and commercial acumen to drive our vision forward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, cultivate, and manage corporate accounts, ensuring strong stewardship and fulfillment of marketing returns for each account.
  • Plan and attend fundraising and engagement events within the community, promoting our charity's aims, missions, and objectives.
  • Identify and attend networking meetings to educate and inform local businesses about our charity's work and opportunities for supporting us.
  • Seek out new partnerships that could be beneficial to our charity, working closely with the Income Generation Team.
  • Support the Marketing Manager in creating marketing materials for engagement, communication, and fulfillment for corporate accounts.
  • Assist with social media content creation, including LinkedIn posts, to promote our charity and engage with potential corporate accounts.
  • Attend and speak at various events to promote the charity and engage with potential corporate accounts.
  • Locate and enroll our charity in business incentives, such as Charity of the Year.
  • Deliver tours of the centre to supporters autonomously, showcasing our facilities and services.
  • Assist the Income Generation Team in delivering against their financial and non-financial targets as specified within the corporate fundraising strategy.
  • Be an outstanding advocate for the Merlin Neuro Therapy Centre Ltd, representing our charity in line with our core values.
  • Act as a spokesperson for the charity when required, including representing at external events as appropriate.
  • Attend and support events run by the fundraising teams as needed.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge and understanding of the charity's work, priorities, and future plans, acting as a spokesperson for the charity when required.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Proven success in corporate fundraising or leading charity partnerships in a commercial setting.
  • Track record of managing corporate accounts.
  • Experience or knowledge in commercial sales.
  • Experience in working with or volunteering with a charity (desirable, not essential).
  • Confident in speaking in front of a large audience.
  • Organized, efficient, and able to manage workload effectively.
  • Ability to work within a team but also comfortable lone working.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
