About the Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join our Ipswich team.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires developing, executing, and continually refining global procurement strategies to deliver industry-leading supplier quality, product/service delivery, customer service levels, total cost, and cash-flow performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the execution of a global procurement strategy that supports Crane objectives for cost reduction, supplier OTD and lead-times, supplier Quality and inventory reduction.
  • Maintain awareness of world markets and emerging material related issues in the industry and position the supply chain to flexibly respond accordingly.
  • Leverage supplier capabilities in product design, cost reduction, lead time reduction, and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish and lead teams to identify and action improvement and savings opportunities.
  • Obtain competitive bids, analyze costs, and negotiate contracts to vendors on the basis of total costs to the company commensurate with financial risks, quality standards, and delivery capabilities.
  • Leverage technology solutions to maximize effectiveness and efficiency of the procurement process.
  • Monitor on-going supplier performance, support functions/business units in resolving chronic supplier performance problems, revise supplier strategies, and, if necessary, lead projects to exit poor performing suppliers.
  • Lead periodic Business Reviews with key suppliers to review quality, delivery, cost, and service performance, progress on strategic initiatives, and ensure ongoing strategic alignment between Crane and the Supplier.

The estimated salary for this role is around £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. Ideally, you will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a global Supply Chain related role. Strong negotiation and contract management skills and a willingness to travel on a regular basis are essential for this role.
