About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and skilled Workshop Controller to join our team at Arnold Clark. As a Workshop Controller, you will work closely with the Service Manager to deliver exceptional productivity and quality in our workshop.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coach a team of vehicle technicians and apprentices to ensure targets and business objectives are met.
  • Oversee the completion of servicing work to the highest standards, with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with company, DVSA, health and safety, and manufacturer policies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to provide a seamless service for customers.
  • Schedule work to meet customer needs, taking into account workshop targets, job complexity, and part availability.
  • Provide estimates for servicing and repairs, and set realistic timescales.
  • Accurately record technician time and write technical reports and recommendations.
Requirements
  • Relevant experience in the automotive industry, including previous workshop control or technician roles.
  • High levels of organization and accuracy.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Fantastic interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • The ability to lead by example and motivate your team to achieve their targets and deliver high-quality work.
