Job Description

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a highly skilled Sustainability and Carbon Team Leader to join our Manchester office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading our sustainability and carbon initiatives, working closely with clients to develop innovative solutions and strategies that drive positive change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of carbon and sustainability strategies, designs, and solutions for major infrastructure projects.
  • Project manage and coordinate sustainability inputs on major infrastructure projects, ensuring seamless delivery and high-quality outcomes.
  • Represent the company at external networks, building relationships and promoting our expertise in sustainability and carbon management.
  • Lead and support bid proposals, developing compelling submissions that showcase our capabilities and expertise.
  • Lead the Manchester/Northern team of sustainability and carbon specialists, providing line management duties and supporting team development.

Requirements:

  • Hold a degree in an environmental or engineering-related discipline and be chartered with a recognized professional body.
  • Have prior experience and up-to-date knowledge in carbon accounting, decarbonization/net zero roadmaps, sustainability assessments, whole life carbon, and sustainability reporting.
  • Possess strong report writing, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor your approach to different audiences and technical competencies.
  • Understand UK sustainability and carbon guidance and standards used within infrastructure and corporate reporting, across both the public and private sectors.
  • Be eager to lead, support, and develop direct reports within a team.
