Principal Sustainability & Carbon Consultant
- Lead Sustainability Initiatives
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading on carbon, sustainability, and net zero strategies for our clients. This will involve developing and implementing innovative solutions to reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainable practices.
Develop Sustainability StrategiesYou will work closely with our clients to develop and implement comprehensive sustainability strategies, including carbon and sustainability assessments, whole life carbon analysis, and sustainability reporting.
Project ManagementAs a Principal Sustainability Consultant, you will be responsible for project managing and coordinating sustainability inputs on major infrastructure projects. This will involve working closely with our clients and internal stakeholders to ensure that sustainability is integrated into all aspects of the project.
Team LeadershipYou will lead and support our team of sustainability and carbon specialists, providing line management duties and supporting team development. This will involve mentoring and coaching team members, as well as identifying and addressing any skills gaps.
Bid ManagementYou will be responsible for leading the development of bid proposals, including authoring submissions and ensuring that win themes are retained throughout. This will involve working closely with our sales team and internal stakeholders to develop compelling proposals that meet our clients' needs.
Requirements for the Principal Sustainability & Carbon Consultant:
- Education and Qualifications
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level in an environmental or engineering-related discipline and will be chartered with a recognized relevant professional body.
Experience and KnowledgePrior experience and up-to-date knowledge in some of the following areas is required: carbon accounting, decarbonization/net zero roadmaps, sustainability assessments, whole life carbon, sustainability reporting, sustainability strategy, supply chain engagement.
Communication and Presentation SkillsStrong report writing, communication, and presentation skills are essential, with the ability to tailor your approach to a range of audiences, seniorities, and technical competencies.
UK Sustainability and Carbon GuidanceUnderstanding of UK sustainability and carbon guidance and standards used within infrastructure and in corporate reporting, across both the public and private sector.
