AtkinsRéalis is seeking a highly skilled Sustainability and Carbon Expert to join our team. As a key member of our Sustainability and Carbon team, you will play a crucial role in advising clients on how to decarbonise their activities and increase performance across other areas of sustainability.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in embedding sustainability into large-scale infrastructure projects and corporate strategies. You will work collaboratively with other teams across the business, at the strategic level as well as through the lifecycle of major infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead on carbon, sustainability, and net zero for our existing portfolio of major infrastructure projects and strategic clients.
- Develop innovative carbon and sustainability strategies, designs, solutions, and management plans.
- Project manage and coordinate sustainability inputs on major infrastructure projects.
- Represent the company at external networks and build personal, team, and company reputation.
- Lead and support bid proposals, helping to author submissions and ensure win themes are retained.
- Education to degree level in an environmental or engineering-related discipline and chartered with a recognised professional body.
- Prior experience and up-to-date knowledge in carbon accounting, decarbonisation/net zero roadmaps, sustainability assessments, whole life carbon, sustainability reporting, sustainability strategy, and supply chain engagement.
- Strong report writing, communication, and presentation skills tailored to a range of audiences, seniorities, and technical competencies.
- Understanding of UK sustainability and carbon guidance and standards used within infrastructure and in corporate reporting, across both the public and private sector.
