Job DescriptionBehaviour Support Assistant

To work under the instruction/guidance of the Centre Manager to support the teaching staff in working with young people and those with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support for Pupils:
    • Use specialist (behavioural) skills/training/experience to support pupils
    • Be available and present in the building for support with behaviour both in lessons and during break periods
    • Assist with the development and implementation of IEPs and PBPs
  2. Support for Colleagues:
    • Assist in the recording of pupils progress with regard to social, emotional and behavioural progress
    • Contribute to the management of pupils' behaviour, both in the classroom and around the school
Requirements:
  • GCSE A* - C in Mathematics and English, or equivalent
  • Full working knowledge of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation
