Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Assistant to join our team at Braundton Consulting Limited. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to the head of facilities & operations in maintaining the school's buildings and assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining the school's buildings and assets, including portering, maintenance, and security.
  • Undertake minor DIY tasks and carry out routine maintenance tasks.
  • Monitor cleaning contractors and undertake grounds work.
  • First line maintenance and repair of school buildings, equipment, furniture, and fittings.
  • Monitor the school's BMS system and report any failures.
  • Act as a keyholder for callouts in emergencies or other circumstances outside normal working hours.
  • Undertake and document weekly compliance checks to the fire system.
  • Carry out PAT testing on items brought onto the school's site.

Requirements:

  • Practical experience in general DIY.
  • Ability to complete manual tasks.
  • Building services experience in a school or similar.
  • Basic IT skills.
  • Practical skills in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical.
  • Health and Safety qualification (advantageous).
