We are seeking a skilled Learning Disability Nurse to join our team in Salford. The successful candidate will support the coordination and delivery of expert clinical care to children with learning disabilities in the community.

About the Role

The post holder will work closely with the Team Leader and members of the Learning Disabilities Team to deliver a high-quality service that meets the needs of children with learning disabilities and their families. This includes assessing and delivering interventions towards a defined caseload, providing specialist nursing input, and communicating effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualised care plans for children with complex health care needs.
  • Deliver expert clinical care in home, school, clinic, and group settings, focusing on behaviour and sleep management, health action planning, and health facilitation.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, relatives, carers, nursing colleagues, allied health professionals, medical colleagues, and managers.
Person Specification

We are looking for a registered nurse with a first degree in Nursing or a related subject, mentorship qualification, and post-registration specialist training relevant to the specialty. The ideal candidate will have highly developed skills in working with children with learning disabilities and/or autism, experience completing and interpreting sensory profiles, and evidence of participation in community-based projects/initiatives.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is £43,141 - £70,828, depending on experience. We also offer a range of benefits, including pension scheme, annual leave, and access to staff wellbeing services.
