Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Laboratory Associate to join our team at Widener University. The successful candidate will assist faculty and students with laboratory activities, operate and maintain various machine shop equipment, and ensure safety compliance in the laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain machine shop equipment, including lathes, mills, CNC machines, and welding equipment.
  • Assist faculty and students with design, fabrication, and modification of mechanical components and prototypes.
  • Provide technical support and training to students and staff on machine shop tools and equipment.
  • Ensure safety compliance by enforcing laboratory safety protocols and conducting regular equipment inspections.
  • Manage inventory of materials, tools, and supplies, and coordinate with vendors for purchases and repairs.
Requirements
  • An associate's degree in a technical field and two years of relevant experience in engineering or a similar field.
  • Experience with engineering testing equipment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
